Car Headliner Repair
Introduction
My car’s headliner (the fabric on the ceiling) started sagging, which is a common issue in older cars. I asked ChatGPT for advice and searched on Amazon & YouTube, and decided that just using these cheap headliner tacks (“screw snap rivets”) was the best option for me, given that my car is old (so doesn’t warrant a full reupholstery) and I wanted a quick, easy, and inexpensive fix.
Materials
I bought these off Amazon for about $5: 60Pcs Car Roof Headliner Repair Kit, Car Ceiling Fabric Repair, Auto Roof Snap Rivets Retainer with Installation Tool, Universal for Interior Ceiling Cloth Fixing Repair Buckle (Beige Flannelette)
Installation:
Step 1: Planning / Layout
Use thumbtacks to temporarily hold up the sagging fabric and plan out where you want to put the snap rivets.
Step 2: Attaching a snap rivet
Use the screw to secure the metal part to the roof, then push on the fabric button part.
